I get emails and calls on a regular basis from people who are interested in signing on to do some voiceimprovement or accent reduction work. One of the most shocking things to every single one of themis that we do not have to meet in person to do a lesson.
Because of this, I work with students of all nationalities all over the world. Most of my sessions I do on the phone, occasionally I do lessons on the computer via Skype. The reason for this is because I don’t need to see you, I simply need to hear you.
I have been improving voices for over 20 years. Just by having a conversation with you I can tell you exactly what you problems are, what you need, how long it will take to fix it and how we are going to go about it.
In fact, I have not ever seen some of the students that have done the best work with me.
Every relationships with me starts out the same. I spend an hour or less having a conversation with you, just general talking, nothing fancy or impressive. In that time I listen for
accent issues, placement issues and more. In fact, that is one of the things that most people don’t realize, your voice is what it is because of where you “place” it in your mouth. In addition, the accents you have heard your whole
life, that’s why you have the accent you do. The things that have occurred in your life from sibling rivalry to a bad experience in speech class all affect what your voice sounds like. I can hear all of that, just in a thirty minute conversation.
Usually it only takes about 6-10 weeks to fix all of the issues that are getting in the way of you having a great voice. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes it takes less time. But, clearly, if you have a desire to improve your voice and will do the work I give you, I can fix your voice. I have not been
able to improve a voice yet, unless the person just did not do what I told them to do. It is actually surprisingly easy to improve a voice and you would never imagine the ways that I go about doing so.
It’s a wonderful learning experience and no doubt life changing…for the better.
